Off-Grid and Low-Impact Design.
The Silos has been crafted from a repurposed 1960s Lysaght grain silo, giving new life to existing materials.
Our accommodation operates entirely off-grid, powered by solar energy and efficient waste systems. With out the use of gas appliances or utilities.
Emissions Reduction.
We use energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting, and insulation to reduce power consumption.
Guest amenities, including our wood-fired hot tub, are responsibly managed with sustainable practices such as resetting and cleaning services that reduce unnecessary resource use.
We prioritise local supply chains, sourcing food, coffee, beer and wine from nearby producers to cut transport emissions and support the regional economy.
Waste and Resource Management.
Recycling and composting systems are in place to minimise landfill contributions.
A worm septic system is installed which aid with the composting of food waste.
Single-use plastics have been replaced with refillable, eco-friendly alternatives, for our kitchen and bathroom amenities.
Water efficiency is achieved through low-flow fixtures and rainwater collection.
Climate Resilience and Education.
As a sixth-generation working sheep and cropping property, we actively engage in regenerative farming practices that improve soil health and sequester carbon.
Guests are invited to join “Meet the Farmer” tours, where they can learn about sustainable agriculture and climate-smart land management.
